Yesterday I flipped through and old issue of Miniature Collector, and I found a page with these cut-outs!

I would like to give this award to
These are some of my favorite blogs, and I find them very inspiring!
Now, 7 things about myself:
1. Before I discovered the dollhouse hobby, my hobby was horses. I used to own a racehorse and spent most of my time at the stables.
2. I never wear jeans around the house. The first thing I do when I get home is to change into tights or my soft velour track pants.
3. The worst job I`ve ever had was doing the dishes at a gourmet restaurant. It was hard work and paid lousy. I worked there two nights a week for three months, but it felt like so much longer.
4. I spend almost every evening in front of the computer when the kids are asleep, and I always wish I had the energy to make miniatures instead.
5. I have a weakness for designer handbags, and I`ll never let my mother know how much I spent on the seven bags I have. (I have spent more on miniatures though, but that`s another story... ;-p)
6. When I listen to music it is mostly Celine Dion.
7. I dream of going to the Chicago International Dollhouse Show, and the Guild School.

Noah shopped online
Noah has done some online shopping for the first time. This is what he bought from Elf Miniatures. Both the dishwasher and the vacuum cleaner makes a sound when you press the buttons. The vacuum cleaner is a bit bigger than 1:12, but Noah loves it, so it doesn`t matter. :-)

The ever-changing living room
The living room in my Country Victorian by RGT has gone through so many changes over the years! This is where it all begun, in November 2004.
By September 2006 it looked like this. The first of THREE wallpaperings this room has seen. The sofa and chairs are Bespaq. I don`t have these any more, I swapped them with Christel.
By christmas, I had changed the furniture. This is a sofa from Lee`s line, and the chair and table is Bespaq.
In March 2007 I changed the wallpaper, and added a new Bespaq sofa and chair, plus a Bespaq cabinet.

July 2007: Another Lee`s Line chair.
Then a leap to February 2009: One more Lee`s Line chair, and a leather chair by Gail Steffey.

Mr and Mrs Bear
Here`s Teddy Bear with his misses, Polar Bear. I bought them in Lübeck in Germany a couple of years ago. They weren`t actually meant for the kids to be playing with them. I like Steiff teddy`s, so I bought them for myself. But they are a good size for 1:12 miniatures, so I thought the kids would enjoy them even more than I would.
I have just made some bedlinen... Noah picked out the fabrics.

Fabric basket, part 2
Here`s one more of the fabric baskets. I filled this one with pink candles. They are thin cake candles that I cut in smaller pieces.

Fabric basket, tutorial
Kathi wanted to see how the fabric baskets are made, and I have actually done a tutorial on them at ATM. Here it is:
You can make these in any size. This one is made with a piece of fabric that is 5 x 3 3/4 "
First you fold the fabric, the shorter ends towards each other. Then you sew along the side. Turn inside out halfway down, then sew along the bottom.
Press the bottom flat and sew across the fabric on each side, making two triangles of fabric. Cut these off.

Painted the cottage
So far I have just added a grey wash to the outside walls. It looks a bit dull to me, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what more to do with the color of the walls? How to paint it, color choice, tecniques, aging etc... I am going to make a garden in front of the house, so I guess that will make it look more interesting.

Fabric basket
I made this fabric basket and filled it with a blanket, a book, and a magnifying glass made by Danny Shotton. My husband bought the book for me from SP miniatures. It is readable and illustrated. I made more of these baskets, and I`ll show you later, as soon as I have filled them with something.

Inside the Cottage, part 2
I have aged the walls inside the cottage. Originally the walls were covered with white stucco. I sanded it down a bit, and then I covered it with matte varnish. To get the aged look I mixed burnt umber and burnt sienna oil paint with liquin glaze. I painted this onto the surface and wiped it off again straight away.

Lights in the roombox
Noah and I have been working on his roombox. I found some of my old lamps, and installed them.
I made a bed for Teddy, and Noah painted it dark green. I am also going to make bedlinen with the fabrics Noah has picked out.
I made the kitchen counter and the shelf on the wall. The sink is an empty Nespresso coffee capsule. Far left under the sink is an opening fridge he borrowed from me. There is an avaliable space under the counter far right, where the dishwasher will go. I asked Noah what he wanted in his house before I started making the counter, and he said a dishwasher and a vacumer, so we ordered those from Elf miniatures.
