ATM swap - A Christmas Carol

I joined a swap at the ATM forum, where the theme was "A Christmas Carol". This is what I made... A metal sign, a wooden tray and a turkey.

And this is what I got in return :-D

Thank you so much Cate, Cia and Karin! Love them!

Christmas gifts

I got some minis for Christmas!

My mom bought me this Reutter set when they visited Germany this summer...

And my sister got me one more Stokesay Ware jar for my collection, the one that says "Tea".

And the gift I got from my husband and the kids.... a trip to London! And of course a visit to Kristin Baybars shop! So there`s a pretty good chance that I have some new minis to show you when I get back ;-).
A friend of mine and I are leaving this Thursday, and we`ll be back on Sunday.

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Chistmas! Hope you all are having a wonderful Holiday!

This is the view from my living room window this morning! White Christmas! :-D

Earlier today the boys helped preparing for the Christmas party by putting all of the gifts under the tree. And afterwards they very willingly posed for a picture.

Before christmas I participated in a swap at ATM.

And in return I got all of these wonderful minis from five different people! I just love everything, thank you so much all of you!

A little bit more christmas...

I bought these trees at a local craft shop, and put them in some mossy pots by Clive Brooker. I used paperclay to hold them, and covered the paperclay with glue and dried tea. I think I`ll leave them like this for now, and decorate them sometime before next christmas.

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish you all a very merry christmas! We got a white christmas this year! :-D My husband took these pictures where we live, a couple of days ago.

Today my oldest son and I went skiing outside our house. It was his first time skiing, and I was impressed with how well he did! My two year old son didn`t want to try it...

Lights on the tree!

Let it snow! I can`t believe how much snow there is outside! This really helps us get into the christmas spirit. It inspired me to invite the whole family to a spur of the moment christmas get-together tomorrow. I`m going to serve them rice-cream, gingerbread cookies and six different kinds of home-made chocolates and truffels, yum! :-D

Yesterday I wired the christmas roombox, I just love the tiny christmas tree lights!

I wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year!

December dollhouse club meeting

Earlier this week we had our monthly meeting with the local dollhouse club. We went to Tone`s home this time. We made christmas decorations and Tone served rice cream, kransekake and gingerbread cookies. I always look forward to our meetings, they are so much fun! I really enjoy getting together with all of these nice ladies who share my interest in miniatures.
This is what I made...

Not long `till christmas!

I can`t believe we got some snow! :-D I hope we get more, so we`ll have a white christmas this year.

My oldest son has decorated the gingerbread house. One piece of candy for the house, one for him, one for the house...
He has also put up all the little figurines around the house. I really like having this in our kitchen, love the smell of gingerbread cookies! Our own little edible miniature setting :-D

After christmas we`ll have some friends over, and eat the house!

A gift from Iceland

Kristín, a friend of mine from Iceland, made me these lovely christmas items! She used her scroll saw, and I think it`s amazing how she can make such tiny things with it, I would be worried about my fingertips! She also made some beautiful christmas ornament for my two sons. Thank you so much, Kristín!

Advent candle decoration

Found one more thing I could make with the moss I bought! The candles are tiny cake candles I got at a kitchen supply store, I just cut them shorter.

Needlepoint picture and pillow

My friend Siv, from our local dollhouse club made this for me! :-D I think it is so pretty! I really appreciate needlework, as it is something I don`t have the patient for making myself, and I admire those who do! These look abolutely adorable in my christmas shop! This year I have the shop on a shelf in our full-size living room as a christmas decoration.

An angel

This was supposed to be a christmas decoration, but I might just leave it on the wall all year! :-D I love the tiny branches, it`s some sort of moss that looks just like tiny christmas tree branches. I got the moss at a local craft store, and made the little sign.

Hearts for the tree

My mom got me these two silver hearts, and I added the tiny golden hearts. The "big" hearts are about 1/2 inch.

Tree ornaments

I have made these tiny ornaments for my christmas tree. When I was younger we made stars similar to these for the full-size christmas tree. I think it`s really fun to make mini-christmas decorations, and I wish I had a huge selection of beads and findings to choose from. For now I only have the ones you see here. At least everything will match in color... :-D

Christmas Shop

I decided that my Christmas Shop needed a make-over before christmas. This is what it used to look like, very messy!

And this is what it looks like now! I painted the walls, stained the floor, painted the shelf, and removed the stickers on the walls. The christmas tree has working lights, and I am planning to make lots of ornaments for it! And I need some gifts under the tree.

I am not completely done with the outside. The shop needs a name, and I have an open/closed sign that I am going to hang on the door.

I love these tiny wooden ornaments. I bougth them at The Kensington Dollhouse Festival, 2008 Christmas fair.

Christmas on the doorstep

Not long `till December now! Today I went shopping for some mini-trees and moss, so one of these days I`ll make some christmas trees. But I have already begun making some christmas minis this year, like this paper basket.
