A sneak peek

My camera has gone missing in the moving process, so until I find it... Here's a little sneak peek of my dollhouse room taken with my phone camera. I just love my comfy chair, right next to all my dollhouse magazines and books.

To see more of the dollhouses in the shelf, press the tags "Victorian Cottage Jr" and "La Belle Vie".

Thrift-store bed

A couple of years ago my mum found this bed at a local thrift-store. I have finally made a matress and bedlinen for it. I also want to make lots of pillows and perhaps a blanket thrown on the bed would look nice.

New items for the interior shop

I`ve made some new items for my interior shop, La Belle Vie. I love flipping through full-size interior magazines for inspiration, and one of my favorites is a norwegian magazine called "Vakre Hjem", it means "Beautiful Homes".

And one for me...

I think I made about nine of these for two different christmas swaps last year. This one was a "left-over" for myself. All the other ones I made was painted green, but I didn`t paint this one until now. I used "Sand" acrylic paint, and aged it with burnt sienna and burnt umber oil paints.

Fabric basket, part 3

I made a bunch of place mats, rolled them up, tied around some linen thread, and placed them in a fabric basket.

Fabric basket, part 2

Here`s one more of the fabric baskets. I filled this one with pink candles. They are thin cake candles that I cut in smaller pieces.

Fabric basket

I made this fabric basket and filled it with a blanket, a book, and a magnifying glass made by Danny Shotton. My husband bought the book for me from SP miniatures. It is readable and illustrated. I made more of these baskets, and I`ll show you later, as soon as I have filled them with something.

Soaps in a box

I made these fimo soaps a while ago, and now I just added some labels and put them in this wooden box that I`ve made.

Napkin holder

A napkin holder with some Swarovski crystals. I made this a couple of days ago. I am trying to make as many minis as I can during the holidays, soon I will have to go back to studying for my Bachelor degree.
And as this is the last day of 2009, I want to wish you all a happy new year! :-D

Ribbon box

Yesterday I made a ribbon box for my interior shop. I had the idea this fall when we went to London. We visited "Chocolate Society" and they gave me a choice of ribbon from a box like this for my Valhrona chocolate box. By the way, I highly recommend this shop if you are ever in London! You can buy Valhrona truffles seperately, so you can pick out your favorites only.

Shingling the roof

I have been putting this off for ages, shingling isn`t the most fun part of making a dollhouse... But I`m glad it`s done now! I painted it with Americana Acrylic paint, a color called "French Grey Blue". I didn`t sand it, to keep it looking more rough. I then added a black wash to the entire roof. The house itself is now done, I just need to fill this interior shop with lots of miniatures! And that might take a while... ;-)
Ten years of beeing a miniaturist, 7 dollhouses, and none of them are finished! And I guess they never will be, I tend to redecorate them over and over again.

An angel

This was supposed to be a christmas decoration, but I might just leave it on the wall all year! :-D I love the tiny branches, it`s some sort of moss that looks just like tiny christmas tree branches. I got the moss at a local craft store, and made the little sign.

La Belle Vie, part 2

These days I have worked on the interior shop. I made this tiny paper bird and a "tree" to hang it on. I`m going to make more of those birds. I have also added mouldings and baseboards to the house.

I found these frames in a scrapbook store, and the pictures are cut-outs from a full-size interior magazine.

La Belle Vie

I am currently working on a dollhouse interior shop, La Belle Vie. It is a Victorian Cottage Jr. kit by Real Good Toys.
